Profile picture of María Tadea Lovo

My name is Maria Tadea Lovo, I am a Nicaraguan native. I received my dental training at Universidad Americana in my home country. After graduating from dental school, I joined a private dental practice for 1 year and also volunteered as a family dentist at Operation Smile Nicaragua; which is a non-profit organization that provides free medical care to low-income children with cleft lip and cleft palate. My growing passion for healthcare and restorative dentistry however, drove me to pursue specialty training in Restorative Dentistry at the Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla in Puebla, Mexico. During my time in the program, I presented a case study at the American Prosthodontic Society annual meeting in Chicago, Illinois. The case study was about a full mouth rehabilitation performing minimally invasive techniques supported by literature in order to preserve healthy dental structure. I was honored with the second place. After graduating from the Restorative Dentistry residency in November 2019, I continued my training by taking several courses in the area.

I am currently working as a Restorative Dentist in a private practice and also working as a freelancer on the side as a content-writer, editor and translator.

Aside from dentistry and healthcare, I love animals and especially my two beautiful dogs Flash and Pluto as well as my adorable cat Lulu. I am also passionate about eating tacos and pozole.
